Charity Golf Tournament

2009 Annual Shotgun Golf TournamentThe Seattle Chapter Annual Shotgun Golf tournament will be held on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Indian Summer Golf and Country Club in Olympia, Washington.

The tournament features cash prizes and a chance to win a new car with a hole-in-one (courtesy of Doxon Toyota 253-833-4555).

  • Entry Fee $150 per Person, FOA/NFF Members $125

2008 Scholar-Athlete Awards

The 43rd Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony took place on December 14, 2008 at Qwest field. Jackson Pierce and Kurt Stottlemyer, both from Bothell High, were honored with the top awards. Read Story.

42nd Annual Chapter Scholar-Athlete Awards

The Seattle Chapter 2007 Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony and Brunch was held Sunday, December 16, at Qwest Field. J.J. Clark of Eastlake High School and Allen Trillana of Kent-Meridian were honored with the top two awards, each receiving a $2000 scholarships from the Seattle Chapter. Read Story.

Two Local Coaches Honored with 2007 Tony Gasparovich Award

Terry Ennis and Rollie Robins were both honored with the Tony Gasparovich Award at the 2007 Scholar-Atlete Awards on December 16. This award is presented by the Seattle-King County Chapter to football supporters who exhibit love and dedication of the game through their principles and leadership with those they work with. Kiilsgaard Named National High School Scholar-Athlete

Kellen Kiilsgaard was honored by the NFF as one of five 2007 National High School Scholar-Athletes during the 60th annual awards luncheon held December 4, 2007 in New York City. Read Story. View Photos.

Legendary High School coach, Terry Ennis, dies

Terry Ennis, football coach at Archbishop Murphy High School, died September 12 at University Medical Center of prostate cancer.

He was the second-winningest coach in state history with a record of 287-87. He won 1A state championships at Archbishop Murphy in 2002 and 2003 and the 4A (then-AAA) title in 1991 at Cascade. Read Seattle Times Article.

2006 Scholar-Athlete Kiilsgaard in NFF Newsletter and named as Finalist by Seattle Times

Kellen Kiilsgaard, one of the top two 2006 Scholar-Athletes, was featured in the June 8, 2007 issue of Chapter Network, the newsletter of the NFF. View newsletter (Adobe PDF format). NCAA Football Youth Initiative Launches Facebook Page

NCAA Football has launched a Facebook page for its Youth Initiative, that provides detailed information on the program, including listings and sign-up links for upcoming youth football clinics, images and video footage from past clinics and events, photos and videos from coaches and parents that showcase their youth football players, and much more. 2009 Enshrinement Festival Schedule Announced

College football fans from across the country will join the NFF from July 17-18 at the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Ind., for the organization's annual Enshrinement Festival, which will pay tribute to the storied careers of 21 of the game's greatest stars. Read Story.

College Football Hall of Famer Jim Owens Dies

Jim Owens, Oklahoma All-American and longtime UW football coach, died Saturday, June 6 at his home in Bigfork, Mont. He was 82. Read Story.

2009 NFF Major Awards

Archie Manning, chairman of The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF), announced today the recipients of the NFF’s 2009 Major Awards, topped by Nike co-founders Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight who will receive the organization’s highest honor, the NFF Gold Medal. Read Story.

U.S. President Barack Obama has nominated 1994 NFF Distinguished American Award recipient Charles Bolden, Jr., to head NASA. Read Story.

FWAA Announces 2009 All-America Committee

The Football Writers Association of America announces its 2009 All-America Committee, which selects the 25-man All-America Team and the winners of the Bronko Nagurski and Outland trophies. This spring, the committee will help select the FWAA All-America Watch List and the watch lists for both of the FWAA's major player awards. Read Story.

2009 Divisional College Football Hall of Fame Class Announced

The NFF announced the 2009 Divisional Hall of Fame Class, which considers players and coaches from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (formerly I-AA), Divisions II, III, and the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) for induction. Read Story.

NFF Announces 2009 Hampshire Honor Society Membership

The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced the members of the 2009 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a 3.2 GPA or better. A total of 564 players from 266 schools qualified for membership in the society's third year, a 27 percent increase from the 2008 class. Read Story.
