2012 Seattle Chapter Scholar-Athlete Awards

The Seattle Chapter's 47th Annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet was held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 10:00am at CenturyLink Field.

Drew Thompson (Kennedy Catholic High School) and Mason Friedline (King's High School) were honored with the top two awards, each receiving a $2000 scholarship from the Seattle NFF Chapter.

The other finalists were Caleb Mathena (Kentlake), Jared Schattenkerk (Eastside Catholic), Caleb Taylor (King’s), Alex Emanuels (Mercer Island), Troy Moens (Inglemoor) and Christian Shigley (Eastside Catholic). They will each receive $500 scholarships.

Mike Brown (710 ESPN Radio Sports Anchor) served as Master of Ceremonies for the event. Dave Wyman (710 ESPN & KIRO-FM Radio Sports Anchor & Former Seahawk) was the featured guest speaker.

Ed Lucero, Line Coach at Snohomish High School, was honored with the Tony Gasparovich Award. This award is presented by the Seattle-King County Chapter to football supporters who exhibit love and dedication of the game through their principles and leadership with those they work with.

The 101 Club, a group within the Washington Athletic Club, was presented with the E.R. "Rusty" Young Memorial Award. This award is presented by the Seattle Chapter to an outstanding individual and/or organization who exhibits undying commitment and dedication to the game through his contributions for the benefit of the scholar-athlete.

The 2011 local Punt, Pass and Kick Competition took place on October 9. The even was co-sponsored by the Seattle NFF Chapter and the Federal Way Hawks Junior Football organization. Many thanks to everyone who participated this year.
